Press Release : HELLO, BONJOUR! campaign launch

Published on September 27, 2018

St. John's, October 1st, 2018 - Le Réseau santé en français de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador (RSFTNL) is launching its campaign Hello, Bonjour!  By wearing a pin or displaying the logo “Hello, Bonjour!”, health professionals, as well as people working in the health care field, will now be able to inform their patients or clients that they can provide health services in French. In doing this, they will demonstrate their commitment to meeting the needs of their patients/clients and to offering quality, safe person-centered services.

Resources from the campaign are available free of charge. There are pins, stickers for windows or doors, and flyers. The resources can be ordered by those working in the health field by communicating directly with the Réseau.

“Communication between health professionals and patients and their families is always a priority in access to quality health services," says Sophie Thibodeau, President of the FFTNL before adding "That the "Hello, Bonjour!” is a step towards an active offer for health services in French”. The RSFTNL invites everyone to ask for assistance in French when both languages are made available in a health care setting.

Led by the Fédération des francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador (FFTNL), the mandate of the RSFTNL is to secure more French-language health services for the Francophone and Acadian communities of Newfoundland and Labrador.
