Warning against fraudulent calls from the Department of Justice Canada

Published on July 2, 2019

There have been recent reports of fraudulent phone calls that appear to be from the Department of Justice. In all cases, the caller poses as an agent from Justice Canada's Family, Children and Youth Section, requesting the receiver to provide their social insurance number. The Department of Justice did not place these calls.

If you've received a suspicious phone call and wish to report it, contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, the agency responsible for dealing with fraudulent calls of this nature.
