National Accessibility Week 2021: Recognizing the work of the Newfoundland and Labrador Human Rights Commission

Published on June 1, 2021

It is always important to remember that it is a punishable offence in Newfoundland and Labrador, as in the rest of Canada, to discriminate against a person with a recognized disability or to fail to participate in the process of accommodating a person with a disability in the workplace.

Five Board of Inquiry Decisions on this issue in 2020, one in 20021

The Newfoundland and Labrador Human Rights Commission (NLHRC) has reminded us of this again in the Board of Inquiry Decisions, five times in 2020 and once in 2021.

During National Accessibility Week 2021, the Francophone Justice Network (Réseau Justice en français) would like to highlight the important work that the Newfoundland and Labrador Human Rights Commission does on a daily basis to make accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities a reality.
